Aren't those adorable?! Which reminded me of these ones at not martha from 2008 ... cute as can be!

From what I can glean, the adorable and wee pies in a jar, originated at Lloyd and Lauren.

Onto the Show and Tell portion of this post teehee ... you may remember this post about the giveaway I won from the adorable Pam at yoborobo. Well Pam overwhelmed me with cute and wonderful stuff and I wanted to say Thank You back for her kindness. So I found this darling pumpkin pattern on the internet - it was a large sized pattern and I shrunk it into pumpkin ornament size and stitched it up for Pam, included a See's Candies Halloween Milk Chocolate Pumpkin, I made her a pumpkin card and I wrapped it in pumpkin paper. Pumpkin Extravaganza! (Yes, I am anal that way, you found me out bwahahahhahahaha)
Re the pattern I used for the ornament - my silly middle aged brain had remembered it as being a pillow pattern - well it turns out to be a woodcrafting pattern! It is a free pattern from Country Corner Crafts and was designed by Susan Luinge. (scroll down to the bottom of the page and it's on the right bottom - I made the small pumpkin head)

I also found the stitched pumpkin card pattern on the internet. You can find the pattern at Make and Takes. I only used two ply of embroidery floss because I thought the suggested six was too thick - now I wish I had used more. WAH!

These Pie in a Jars are just the cutest. What a great idea. I will have to go check out my jar collection now...... Pumpkin are so precious.
ReplyDeleteHi Kate!
ReplyDeleteAren't they darling! You're so lucky you've got some canning jars already, I need to buy some. QUICK!
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed the pumpkins, I had a lot of fun making everything. :)
Sally! I forgot to tell you how much I love the card! I have it in front of me right now, keeping me company. It's just lovely! :) And is the pie in a jar really a pie in a jar? Or is it like a candle that looks like a pie? I will have to investigate. ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Pam! Yup, that's really pie baked in a small mason jar, isn't it fun?!
ReplyDeleteCan you really bake the pie in those jars...interesting! And your pumpkin ornament is so cute!
ReplyDeleteHi Lori!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, I had a lot of fun stitching him! I haven't done any embroidery in years and the past few months I've begun to play again and I'm really enjoying it. I had forgotten how much I love fibers.
Well ... according to these other bloggers, you sure can bake the pies in mason jars ... I'm skeptical too but I especially adore the girl who does "not martha" and she says it works, so I'm going to take a leap of faith and try my own. Fingers crossed they don't explode on me, huh?! ;)
When I come to visit you I always need to have plenty of time because I know there's going to be a lot of neat links to check out. I am about half way through your list of blogs two posts down. Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into this. Enjoy your day! Twyla
ReplyDeleteSally - just wear goggles when you open the oven door! LOL! I'm sure it will be fine, the mason jars are thick, right? Maybe you bake it at lower temps. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd what time do I show up for chocolate and sharing anxieties? I am so THERE! xox
Hi Twyla! You're so sweet! I'm so glad to know there's someone else besides me that enjoys looking at new blogs - I find it a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteLindsey's party looks adorable, I love that you go all out and make it so much fun, what a great mommy you are! :)
Happy week to you,
Sally
Hi Pam!
ReplyDeleteI think goggles are in order and maybe a flac jacket too! ;) I ordered some beautiful jars online so I don't know how thick they are yet YIKES! I'm starting to get a wee bit nervy about the whole thing, even with baked pies as evidence on other peoples blogs. hmmmm ... maybe those are CG pies in a jar? bwahahahhahahhahaha
Chocolate and conversation on tap at all times, come when the spirit moves you or you have low blood sugar! :)
Happy almost Thursday,
Sally
