Top of the morning to you!

By gosh and begorrah! Wishing you a very Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to make for dinner tonight. Do I try to make a vegetarian version of Corned Beef and Cabbage again (the previous recipe wasn't very exciting) or do I make Bubble and Squeak or Colcannon or??? Decisions, decisions.

I'm going to make a traditional soda bread. I was going to make a more foo - foo'd up version (after all the wonderful versions I found yesterday!) until I saw a link to the Society for the Preservation of Irish Soda Bread! I certainly don't want to be a participant in the decline of Irish Soda Bread teehee.

By the way, I stumbled upon the Society for the Preservation of Irish Soda Bread, via a link in the comments on this blog entry at Whipped, which has another yummy, no er um, I mean, FALSE, poseur, of Irish Soda Bread. (comment #4, Ed sets us all straight - thank you Ed for keeping us on the right track!)

Please don't report me to the SFTPOISB, but that sure looks good! Blasphemy, I know. ;)

  1. Well you did it. This very German-Hispanic-American family had Irish Soda Bread with a very green homemade Pea/Spinach soup. I loved it and hubby re-informed me of his dislike for peas but he loved the soda bread. Happy St. Patrick's Day to you and thank you for trying to pep me up but my little one is still in the blahs (very rare for her) and I can feel it coming on over me. So I will probably finally blog about our Ireland trip post St. Paddy...oh, well. Please visit whenever you can.

  2. Hi Jenny!
Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear your little one hasn't improved and that you're beginning to feel poorly too. WAH! Here's hoping you both feel better lickety split! I'm glad you got all your Eatin' o' the Green done already, since you won't feel much like it today. I'll look forward to reading all about your trip to Ireland (you lucky!).
    Hoping you feel better soon!
Oh! In case dessert is the cure to what ails you, these look tasty. (I'm not normally fond of mixes but these are calling my name.)
This is a twitter address, which is all new to me, I hope you end up in the right place for the whoopie pie cookies!

The blog is called Dunked Twice and the recipe is for St. Patrick's Day Whoopie Pies - in case you end up somewhere else (I say this because I clicked on it in my history and it didn't go to the page I had been on yesterday - what the hoohah is that all about?! But I clicked backwards a couple of times and there it was.) Sorry for being so long winded when you don't feel well!
