Fumbling towards Fabuloso Friday

I know many of you are accustomed to receiving a lot of comments. I'm sure not. At all. I have my small posse teehee who have hung on through thick and thin (thank you thank you thank you, love you guys!) but I don't illicit much in the way of comments beyond my pals. Being a shy and introverted person, this is truly absolutely positively fine and I don't really hunger for more. At least, I didn't think I did???

Good gosh. My smile is a mile wide this morning. Because. As I write this, I've received comments from twelve new and lovely commenters. And added some followers. WAHOO! Fun fun fun. Thank you Vintage Thingie Thursday participants for all of your kind words. I look forward to joining in again in the days to come.

Anybody out there enjoy mystery books? One of the panels we saw last weekend at the Festival of Books, was one with mystery authors. The most exciting (for us) being Elizabeth George, author of the Inspector Lynley series. Perhaps you know her through the wonderful PBS series. So much fun to hear her (she was delightful), get to meet her and have her sign her latest book to us.

There were two authors on the panel I hadn't hear of, or their mystery series before also. They sounded so entertaining, we picked up their first books in each of their series.

Happy Whodunit Friday!

  1. I'm not much of a mystery reader...does The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo count??? The title I Dreamed I Married Perry Mason cracks me up tho!

  3. Hi Lori!
I inherited the love of mystery books from my mother. I haven't read any in a while but I love them.
I need to try The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo again, I really struggled with it and couldn't get the authors rhythm. The movie is supposed to be very good but I want to read the book first.
I thought about getting my niece the one with Perry Mason in the title and then I realized she wouldn't have a clue who on earth Perry Mason was! The author made her books sound like they are like Janet Evanovich's - don't know if you've read any of hers?
    Happy weekend!

  4. Hi Pam,
Oh darn! I wish I'd known, I would have got you an autographed book! I wish you could have been there, we really enjoyed Elizabeth George. Hubby has read most of her books, I've only seen the BBC Inspector Lynley series on PBS - now I'm itching to read them all.
Oh - she said she's not selling anymore of her stories to the BBC, she didn't like what they had done with them. Shoot and I really loved that series. Boo hoo!
    Happy weekend!

  5. Happy May Day to you too Mary! I love the classics, E. M. Forster's 'A Passage to India' is one of my favourite novels.

I have a lemon bar recipe that you might like. It has a shortbread crust but the filling is actual lemon curd! A bit time consuming, but so worth the effort. You can find it on my blog under 'Bars' or 'Lemon'. I would leave the link but I don't think they work on comments. :)
