feeling stitchy

The itch to stitch has been getting stronger and stronger of late.  It's been so long and I feel so very rusty and anxious.  I've been entertaining the idea of making something for my living room and last night the urge to begin overcame me.
In the poor evening light of my den, I picked what I hoped might go with my living room colors.  After breakfast this morning I gathered up the possible skeins and put them against my living room chair.  My eye caught my pincushion that lives in my curio cabinet with my little treasures.

I found it at Heart's Ease in Cambria, California long ago.  Heart's Ease was originally owned by the wonderful author, illustrator, gardener, Sharon Lovejoy. You can read Sharon's blog here.

Happy Stitching!

  1. Oh I would go crazy at a shop like Heart's Ease! I LOVE anything lavender scented.
Your pin cushion is so sweet!
    Erica :)

  2. Sally,
I love the colors you chose. I can't wait to see what you make up.I also love the new cutie house banner. Where did you find that? I love it!I've been stitching alot lately too. Not sure why, maybe because-your mind can wander . ANyway get going girl!!

  3. Just read your comment. I have a really dumb question and I know(hope) you won't laugh at me. Do you know where to go or ask about adding colors and images to buttons on the sidebar or catagory bar? I'm hating some of the stuff on my blog and am a dufus at computer stuff. How did you get your info? I know it can be done , cuz when I look at so many blogs they all look so polished and I'm just struggling on html and all that good stuff. Anyway. I love CHarlottes banner-should you decide to do it. Let the summer games begin-is right! Thanks! By the way-I just love your comments .They always make me laugh!

  4. Love that more than vintage pin cushion. Thanks for visiting me, I am following you now.

  5. I love to hand-stitch anything. I find it so relaxing. Love the colors you've picked out and can't wait to see what you're going to work on. xox!
