Christmas Customs for Rednesday

(please visit Sue at It's A Very Cherry World for more Rednesday fun!)

We went to the really fun Renegade Craft Fair Holiday Sale in Downtown Los Angeles on Sunday morning. I found a couple vintage Christmas booklets and a children's magazine, I thought I'd share the two booklets today for Rednesday.

The first booklet I saw was this one, Christmas Customs Around The World. It is a promotional giveaway from a Lincoln Mercury Car Dealership. Sadly there's no date anywhere on it - it looks like the 60's or 70's? I picked it up for the darling illustrations and seeing that it included Scandinavia (my mom's dad was Swedish), that sealed the deal. (Too funny though - now that I sit down and actually read it, it doesn't mention Sweden at all.)

The second booklet I found was this charming one of Christmas Carols and traditions, a giveaway from Richfield Gasoline Station Franchises (Richfield became Atlantic Richfield, became ARCO). Sadly again, no date printed.

  1. wow they really do have great illustrations too bad it didn't mention Sweden...I am sure they don't have Latvia either...booo! great finds though...thanks for sharing all the pics...Blessings, Mica

  2. What great books! The Phone Number for the dealership is an alpha/numeric...are you sure that's not the late 50's early 60's? I thought by 63 all phone numbers were numeric only, but I could definately be wrong...LOL...I was only 3. Hwy can you e-mail me your e-mail address? I have something I wanted to send ya. I completely understand if your leary to do it tho. Here's mine...............................

  3. greetings from Long Beach...I wanted to go to the craft faire myself but didn’t get to make it. Was it worth it?? all the best, Cynthia

  4. Hi Sally, I don’t sell at the Long Beach Flea...only very occasionally

Market in Santa Monica. Been there for 9 years now. all the best good to hook up with a local...c
