Guess who came for lunch and an AWARD!

Still waiting over here for news about my father-in-law. Not a peep out of anyone yet. WAH! I'm passing the time working on my youngest niece's graduation gift (and being a nervous wreck).

Isn't it wonderful when you need a bit of cheering up and someone very sweet, serendipitously thinks of you?! Darling LV, of Thoughts from Meme's Corner, gave me the Trendy Blog Award. How dear and fun is that?! I met LV through Vintage Thingie Thursday and she's a sweetie!

Thank you so much LV for thinking of me! :)

Upon receipt of the award, one is to post about the award and choose ten bloggers to in turn, give the award to.

And the greatest thing about this one is that you don't have to talk about yourself. Hurray hurrah! That's my kind of award.

Here's my ten, dear blogging friends, in alphabetical order ... Trendy Bloggers all!

Elizabeth @ Creative Breathing
Ellie @ Ella's Edge
Jenny @ Pleasant Places
Kate @ The Garden Bell
Leslie @ Brookhollow Lane
Lori @ Run Lori Run
Pam @ Yoborobo
Stephanie @ Old World Primitives
Twyla and Lindsey @ Two Crazy Crafters
Valerie @ Une Gamine Dans La Cuisine

And ...

Look who came for lunch! Can you see the squirrel eating out of my bird feeder? I was in the kitchen making my lunch and I turned around to see this fellow having lunch ... upside down. I grabbed my iPhone and took pics. Too funny, he'd grab birdseed and then pull back from the feeder and hang by his feet, eating birdseed!

  1. Hello Dear Sally....congrats on your "trendy" award and THANK YOU SOOOO much for the shout out. That is so encouraging. I feel like a goof, but I thought "Awww, we are friends!" when I saw my name on the list. And I certainly appreciate that even more than the award, but the award is quite nice. I have already tried to post a comment 2 times before but I have been having posting issues. I wanted to say of course I am praying about your father-in-law and totally understand what you mean about the phone ring at odd hours. There have been some humdingers here lately. I pray peace and healing for him and all the family. It is so hard when you are farther way. Thank you again dear friend for the award and sharing the fun of your critter at the feeder..too funny.

    Yipeeeee.

    Toodles,
    Kate

  9. Hi Pam!
Thank you so much for your care, concern and prayers! We heard last night that he was to have surgery early this morning ... but then we received a call this morning that his blood wasn't thin enough, so the surgery is rescheduled for tomorrow (Thursday). The waiting is torture. And I'm a Nervous Nellie anyway and I'm about bananas at this point.
You silly noodle, of course I thought of you! Did you get a big chuckle out of my bestowing an award??? Lots of irony in that, huh?!
    Happy Wednesday!

  11. Hi Valerie!
Thank you for the congrats! Truth be told, I heaved a big sigh of relief when I saw that the award was short and sweet (like "hey, I notice you and think you're swell" teehee).
Yes, absolutely, those long toesies - now I'm thinking of Ice Age! :)
    Happy Wednesday!

  12. Hi Twyla!
Thank you for the congrats! ACK! I'm such a nincompoop - I feel horrible not including Lindsey's name. I will correct that now. Please forgive me, my brain left me momentarily. I was thinking of who consistently posts on my blog and dear you, Twyla, were the first "vocal" follower of mine. Thank you so much for always being such a sweetie and noticing me. :)
    Happy Wednesday!

  14. Hi Stephanie!
    You're very welcome!
Hah! You should have seen the squirrel, hanging upside down by his skinny toes, munching away on the birdseed. So funny! And my Retriever kept going out and barking "Hello you! I'm the resident dog here. Woof woof!" and was plumb (or is that plum?!) tuckered out! The squirrel would scurry across the block wall, over to the garage roof and then leap in the air over to our olive tree. And then they'd begin the dance all over again.
You're a sweetheart, thank you so much for your kind words for FIL!
    Happy Wednesday!
    Sally

  19. I have between 6-8 squirrels that do the same things at my feeders. They are pretty amazing. I only have one squirrel proof one!
