vintage ornaments

Still unpacking and going through my mom's ornaments.  Everything here predates me except for the ornament hangers and Spode serving bowl and I'm definitely vintage, so these must be too then LOL.  I found my mom's vintage tablecloth - it's really too small for my table but I'm going to pretend it's not!

  1. Everytime I go to my father's house, I go through my mother's things. I always find fun vintage goodies! How fortunate you are to have your mother's vintage Christmas ornaments! I love them all! :)

    1. Hi Denise! Thank you for visiting and for your sweet comment. My mother passed away many years ago now but I couldn't bear to go through her things until my dad passed away last year. It's been quite a journey.

      Merry Christmas!

  2. What a coincidence we shared the same Santa. Mine has a blub that lights up where yours is holding something else. They are definitely vintage.

    1. Hi LV! Isn't that fun that we shared the same Santa! Two great minds with a single thought as they say. ;) I'm going to try and research and find out what the original bulb was - my mom may have just stuck a bubble light in there but it's all I recall ever seeing.

      Merry Christmas!

  3. Beautful vintage ornaments from your mom and now a heirloom! They remind me of C'mas...of the real ones from way back...they were real to me when I was a little girl.Thank you for your sweet visit to me, you always make my day!

    1. Hi Suzan! Thank you for your sweet comments - gosh, I wish I knew the origins but I sure don't. I think you may be right about the wax ornaments having a German heritage? I do love them all but then they transport me back to those days of wonder as a child. :)

      Merry Christmas!

  5. Put your mother's tablecloth on top of a plain tablecloth that fits your table. Works for me!

    1. Hi Annie! I had the same thought - I'm going to make it work somehow, I love the cloth. The funny thing is that I can't imagine what table my mother used it on, it would have never fit the dining room table I remember - perhaps it's from when it was just my mom and dad, starting out?

      Merry Christmas!

  9. I remember those Santa mugs, had some----why did I ever get rid of them? I guess we don't appreciate vintage until it's vintage!

    1. Hi Betty Lou! My mother had more of the mugs but the glaze was coming off in sharp bits and I gave them away - ooof! I could kick myself for that - vintage and chippy and I let them go. WAH!

      Merry Christmas!
