It's Rednesday!

(Please visit Sue at It's A Very Cherry World for more Rednesday fun!)

First off, I want to celebrate the rescue effort of the Chilean miners and the miners, this Rednesday morning. As I write this, 14 men have been rescued (now 15!). WAHOO! Continued prayers and good thoughts, well wishes, hopes for an easy return to normalcy and a rapid recovery for all of them.

Please forgive me teehee, this is a stretch - with just touches of red. I'm sharing a children's magazine, Children's Play Mate, this Rednesday. This is the April 1951 issue. The front and back covers are soiled but the inside is clean and intact. It has the most charming illustrations! I am sharing the few colored illustrations today for Rednesday and will share some of the black and white cuteness for tomorrow on Vintage Thingie Thursday.

  1. I had to stay up late last night, just to make sure I saw the first two men come up out of that mine! It's just mind boggling!
Old magazines are quickly becoming my favorite finds right now. I love looking at all of the ads especially. What a wonderful find this children's magazine is. The illustrations are so sweet!
    Happy REDnesday!

  2. Thanks for visiting today and for the nice comments. It is reassuring to know miracles do still exist in the form of 33 men being removed from a mine....alive. God is good!

The graphic in your children's book are so cool, love it!

  4. I've been watching them come up out of the mine - isn't it wonderful? And I love your old magazines. Why is it that make me happy? Something about the colors, and the lines - very sweet. xox! Pam

  7. Ooh, love these those illustrations. Also rejoicing with you about the rescues.

Thank you for stopping by with birthday wishes. I love that you celebrate all week. I think that would be an amazing tradition, just don't tell our son (21 years old but still a huge kid at heart who absolutely LOVES presents). Who doesn't, right.

    Happy REDnesday!
