Tale as old as time
True as it can be
Barely even friends
Then somebody bends
Unexpectedly
Just a little change
Small, to say the least
Both a little scared
Neither one prepared
Beauty and the Beast
Ever just the same
Ever a surprise
Ever as before
Ever just as sure
As the sun will rise
Tale as old as time
Tune as old as songTrue as it can be
Barely even friends
Then somebody bends
Unexpectedly
Just a little change
Small, to say the least
Both a little scared
Neither one prepared
Beauty and the Beast
Ever just the same
Ever a surprise
Ever as before
Ever just as sure
As the sun will rise
Tale as old as time
Bittersweet and strange
Finding you can change
Learning you were wrong
Certain as the sun
Rising in the East
Tale as old as time
Song as old as rhyme
Beauty and the Beast
Tale as old as time
Song as old as rhyme
Beauty and the Beast
WOOHOO!
I adore Beauty and the Beast, don't you?!
We're going to a BATB sing-a-long this weekend. How fun is that?! And even funnier and funniest of all, I can't sing a note. bwahahhahahaha! Not much of a treat for my audience mates I dare say but then they may all be under five years old and my pathetic caterwauling may just get by undetected.
We're going to see it at the wonderful old El Capitan Theater in Hollywood.
I was lucky enough to get to see it on the stage here too with my mom - I can remember it was so much fun to see Belle's father come on the stage in his little putt putt car and of course, to see the Beast turn into a man!
We saw the play at a theater, The Shubert, which no longer exists here - torn down for another high rise office building. ARGH! So very sad. Great memories though - I got to see Ingrid Bergman, George C. Scott and Glenn Close in plays there to name but a few.
I better go warm up this golden throat of mine and practice for the big day, huh?! ... me me me ... warble warble la la la ack ack ... Be our guest! Be our guest! Be our guest! Get your worries off your chest ...
Oh! As I returned home from my errands this morning, I saw a sign posted saying there's a Quilt Craft Fair at a home nearby this weekend. Fun fun fun. Better write it down quick before my middle aged brain forgets it.
Wishing everyone a fun weekend!
