grammies lace

I found many treasures while going through my parents things after my father passed away last year. One of things I found was this mauve leather case, belonging to my fraternal grandmother. The contents brought delight - vintage lace, collar pieces, gloves and a charming pin cushion.

The discovery also brought some fun -
the leather case was from MALT O MEAL cereal!

Grammies gloves :)
The fingers are so very tiny in person!

  4. Wow Sallie!!! How GORGEOUS!! You must be thrilled with those...and no, I don't clean my laces unless they have a smell, then a quick swish through some very lightly soapy warmish water and a quick pat to begin to dry and reshape. Please check out pinterest for lace cleaning ideas and solutions to use. I don't have a clue! Yours look beautiful and they are exquisite!! Thank you so much for your comment on my blog post!

  9. The laces are beautiful. And the gloves! Don't you wish ladies still wore gloves like that? I had to laugh at the Malto Meal case. I know this sounds weird, but my brother sends me chocolate flavored Malto meal from Minnesota, because I eat it all the time for breakfast. We can't get the chocolate flavor here. One of life's little pleasures! Anyway, what a treasure trove you have there.
