grammies lace

I found many treasures while going through my parents things after my father passed away last year. One of things I found was this mauve leather case, belonging to my fraternal grandmother. The contents brought delight - vintage lace, collar pieces, gloves and a charming pin cushion.

The discovery also brought some fun -
the leather case was from MALT O MEAL cereal!

Grammies gloves :)
The fingers are so very tiny in person!

Please join in the Vintage Thingie Thursday fun with Suzanne at Colorado Lady!

  2. Iove all the beautiful Lace pieces Meg x

  3. Such lovely lace!! Hope you will frame some of it---too pretty not to show!

  4. Wow Sallie!!! How GORGEOUS!! You must be thrilled with those...and no, I don't clean my laces unless they have a smell, then a quick swish through some very lightly soapy warmish water and a quick pat to begin to dry and reshape. Please check out pinterest for lace cleaning ideas and solutions to use. I don't have a clue! Yours look beautiful and they are exquisite!! Thank you so much for your comment on my blog post!

  5. Those are some gorgeous bits and pieces of lace!

  6. What an absolutely beautiful treasure. How lovely the memories of your Granma. Thank you for visiting me and for your sweet comment xx

  7. What a beautiful discovery of cherished family memories. The lace is stunning and you are so lucky to have them. Thanks so much for sharing.

  8. What a wonderful bit of nostalgia and history! The lace and gloves are beautiful!

  9. The laces are beautiful. And the gloves! Don't you wish ladies still wore gloves like that? I had to laugh at the Malto Meal case. I know this sounds weird, but my brother sends me chocolate flavored Malto meal from Minnesota, because I eat it all the time for breakfast. We can't get the chocolate flavor here. One of life's little pleasures! Anyway, what a treasure trove you have there.
