Vintage Birthday Card for Rednesday

(Please join Sue at Sue Loves Cherries for more Rednesday fun!)

I was kind of at a loss today for Rednesday!

My oldest niece is graduating this Sunday (getting her PHD in Psychology, atta girl!) and her slow poke Auntie had decided to make her something and it's so very slow coming together. I sat, scratching my head all last week and couldn't think of a thing.  Finally yesterday, a thought came to me and now I have to work like a crazy person because I'm slow as molasses.

Anyway, I remembered I had some vintage paper goodies I had found, still out on my desk --- aha! Something for Rednesday after all!

My mother was notorious for buying stuff and then forgetting where she had put it - I gather this adorable unused birthday card for my father, was one of those many things that went astray.

Aren't the illustrations cute?!  It's a Hallmark card, copyright is 1948.  Hope it brings you smiles too!

  2. Cute card! It all works for today -- except, my hubby really doesn't shovel coal into the furnace very often!! I remember a huge furnace like that one at my grandparents!

  4. That is too cute. I love those vintage graphics.Let me know how the Ancestry seminar goes. I didn't even know they had such a thing. I'm scanning away over here, trying to get stuff into my tree. I'm glad you gave me a review on the movie-I'm dying to see that. My son saw it already and he loved it! Happy Reds!

  5. This is such an awesome vintage card, it reminds me of my super sweet and adorable in-laws. They just celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary, and I'm reminded so much about them in these cute pictures!

  8. Love the graphics on this sweet card! I'm another one who is notorious for buying something then forgetting where I put it, and I've done that many times with cards!
    Happy REDnesday,

  9. I saw the iooo post giveaway at Charlottes. I did leave a comment. Maybe I'll get lucky! Isn't the research so addicting? I wish my Hubs was into it, but his relatives came from Mexico, and that is really hard to research. Some countries are so much easier. Don't forget your tickets! Have a good weekend.

  10. What a truly sweet card! Oh, yes, my mom was always stashing away cards for future events. And some were never used. Congratulations to your niece!

    Blessings,
