Wishing everyone a lovely Rednesday!
This Rednesday I'm sharing a book with you that belonged to my uncle when he was a little boy. The book is entitled "Fun On The Farm" by John Y. Beaty, published in 1933. It's pretty beat up, so I gather it was much loved by my uncle and by his siblings that followed.
Isn't the bookplate darling? I love that he signed his name. Is it just me or does the cottage and flowers make one think of Mary Englebreit?!
It's full of the most charming photos ...
(The text reads "One day Grandma let Frances play with some baby chicks. You can see these chicks were not afraid, no matter where Frances put them.)

There aren't really any kick bang movies I'm dying to see right now anywhere that i know of.
ReplyDeleteSo we're off to see Cindi Lauper tomorrow in Solvang instead....groovy music concerts and wine tasting and art are what's on my entertainment schedule for this month. That bookplate is particularly captivating and makes me think of Kate Greenway.

Hi Maria!
ReplyDeleteHow fun to go to Solvang for a concert! I didn't realize there was a venue up there. I love Cyndi Lauper - Time After Time is still one of my all time favs. I'm so envious, sounds like a wonderful weekend! We're such losers. We're getting the house wired to the hilt to keep out the meanies and trying to put the house back together - where did all this stuff come from?!
Have fun!

ReplyDeleteYippie! I'm so glad it was a brisk 93 for you today, must have felt down right nippy teehee! Good gosh, how long has it been since you've been under 90 degrees? I think I'd lose my mind. I like warm, but I don't do well in hot.

We're getting all decked out here tomorrow complete with panic buttons, ay yi yi. I hope to cease being a nervous wreck one of these days.
