if it walks like a duck ...

sniffle sniffle ...

The ugly duckling truth ... I ran out of time to finish my ducky in class last weekend and the past week had too many surprises in it, requiring my time, to try to finish her.

I'm really anxious about having to finish her all on my own.

I found this sooooooooooo difficult. I have no eye for dimension or form or sculpting ability so I was so far out of my depth and comfort zone (which is pretty narrow to begin with, let alone in public!).

Please think cute ducky thoughts for me and that I can overcome my anxiety and get her finished. WAH!

  1. You can do it. The little duckling will mean more to you if you finish it yourself.

  3. Oh that's hysterical! Kind of like a "ghost" duck, lol. C'mon Sally, you can't leave that poor sweet duck like that. What you've done so far is adorable, she or he just needs a little "face" time. ;)

    1. Hi Pam! Oh! You're laughing at my poor ducky - poor thing has me as a mommy LOL. I was rather thinking a zombie ducky, they're so popular now. That's called "core wool" - I guess you don't waste the colored on the whole piece or perhaps this is denser? I don't know hahahaha ...
Happy week to you, you ducky disparager ;)

  5. You know that little ducky...unfinished as he is...reminds me of the duck on "Babe." With all his cute insecurities and skinny ducky body.

    1. Hi Vivian! Thank you! She only resembles a ducky because I kept looking at the teachers model WAH! Now I feel lost. We're supposed to attach the eyes with needle and thread - and pull the thread hard to make the socket and shape the face ... Her cute cheeks will stick out. But - I thought I remembered how and I pulled the needle and thread through and the glass eyeball button just fell off the thread hahahaha. So I obviously missed the first step LOL.
Thanks for coming over and helping and encouraging me! Happy craftiness!
