vintage valentines

We went to the Antiquarian Book Fair in Santa Monica on Sunday.  Although it's always advertised as also being a "paper" show, there seldom is anything except for a map or document vendor.  This time one of the booksellers brought vintage valentines along with him.  WOOHOO!  Now I'm kicking myself for not having picked up more.  BOO HOO!

    1. Hi Jill! Thanks so much for visiting! Isn't the honeycomb one fun?! Oh my gosh, I saw it from several booths away and knew I had to have it. Another customer was looking at it but thankfully, they decided on another one. WHEW!

      Happy Valentines Day!

    1. Hi Astrid! Thank you so much for visiting and commenting! Isn't the tea pot one divine?! I am so in love with it. And I especially love it since both the kiddies are brunette like my husband and I - so hard to find a card with two brunettes.

      Happy Valentines Day!

    1. Hi Leslie! Thank you, I just love them to pieces. I had to get the golf one because my daddy loved to golf and because it had a doggie and there was no way I could walk away without the tea party one and then I thought I should get the more typical Victorian one too (it's absolutely pristine!). Wish I had succumbed more now hahhahaha.

Happy Valentines Day! (hope you see my doggie photos today)

  8. You go to the most interesting places! So many things are available to you where you live. What great Valentines you found. I am just beginning to appreciate and look for these older Valentines. I found a few today like the little golf one. Imagine how special these were to receive. Thanks for sharing. E

    1. Hi Elizabeth! Thanks so much for coming by! We like a lot of things and I guess there is a lot going on in Los Angeles - we are getting old and cantankerous now though teehee and don't do much anymore. But books are always calling our name.

The golf one and the tea party one I picked up, are HUGE! What a delight that must have been to have this big envelope arrive and find a valentine from your sweetheart inside!

      Happy Valentines Day!

  13. I so love vintage Valentines! The graphics are so charming - so much prettier than those manufactured today. Even though you wish you'd bought more, the ones you bought are beautiful, Sally!
