(Anyone else out there dipping into their leftover Halloween candy while they type their Rednesday post?)
(Please visit Sue at It's A Very Cherry World for more Rednesday fun!)
ACK! How did that happen?! How is it already November 2nd?! The good news is that means I can share holiday stuff on Rednesday without guilt hehe!
I got these super cute ornament hangers (bought them for the boxes!) at the Long Beach Outdoor Antique Market on Sunday. I don't know how vintage they are??? Definitely not from recent decades but I don't have a clue how old they are. I especially love the name "Time Saver" - hmmmm wonder what their time saving features are teehee!
I'm also sharing this "Christmas Helper, No. 8" booklet, published in 1920 and used in Sunday School classes. Isn't the cover adorable?! Sorry, I'm only sharing selected pages, thirty some pages to scan was just too much for me.
Love your Christmas Helper book, old traditions are so interesting. I can't believe it's November already...I better get my head into thinking Christmas! Thanks for all you share..you are so kind!
ReplyDeleteHugs to you Sally!
Joyce

ReplyDeleteYep...my project is a Christmas one, so yeah, Christmas is on my mind. I love that flea market but everything is sooo expensive...I just look

O Swing Out Your Berries? Hmmmm. I don't remember that carol - haha! I love the Time Saver hooks. I need a couple of barrels of those. I have started my Christmas shopping - eeeeek! xox Pam

ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you enjoyed yourself!
Happy Rednesday,
Sally
Lucky you. I love it when I find something wonderful at a flea market that I can actually use and afford in the same purchase.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my big red chicken post. It lead me to your great blog. I have enjoyed all your halloween post. I have to remember to do that squid topping next time I make pot pies.
Hi Bunny!
ReplyDeleteI'll look forward to seeing your project! Yup, the LB show sure is expensive, huh?! I saw quite a few things I wanted and the prices were so HIGH. WAH!
Happy Rednesday,
Sally
Hi Sallie,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by and leaving your sweet comment. I truly appreciate it.
There's no Halloween candy but I am eating that B&J ice cream that I mentioned earlier...lol.
Your fur babies are just beautiftul.
I love your "time saver" ornament hooks. What caught my eye was the fact that they were "made in U.S.A." How rare these days.
Thank you for sharing with us on Rednesday.
Hi Pammie!
ReplyDeleteI should have known that if anyone was going to notice O Swing Out Your Berries, it would be you! ;) It cracked me up too, that's why I included it. We're the goofy sisters.
No way, say it isn't so - who have you already shopped for?!! I wish I could start early and get it over with but if I start early, I just keep buying stuff - so it doesn't quite work out for me bwahahhahhaaha.
Happy Rednesday,
Sally xooxox
Hi Rita!

Isn't the tentacle pot pie fun?! So cute! I'll look forward to hearing about it.

Hi Cherry Chick!
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome, your pieces are so lovely!
Yum! Ice cream! I wish I had some right now - I must get rid of this Halloween candy fast before I eat it all. I can hear it calling my name. :)
Thank you so much for admiring my doggies, that's so sweet of you.
Happy Rednesday,
Sally
Lovely vintage Christmas finds!
ReplyDeleteAnnette

Sally, the ornament hanger boxes a great. I love the graphics on old boxes-who cares what's in them! The booklet is cute too-I'd love to look at your stash one of these days! You do have great ephemera. Is that spelled correctly? Happy Reds!
ReplyDeleteAdore the vintage hangers, the new ones you buy now are absolutely flimsey. The packaging is so cool. And the little helper book is adorable.
ReplyDeleteAnn
I love those old ornament hanger boxes, Sally! The time saving feature should be that they hang themselves!
ReplyDeleteHappy REDnesday!
Carol
Hi Annette!

Hi Gail!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see you, thanks so much for visiting. So glad you enjoyed yourself!
Happy Rednesday,
Sally
Hi Leslie!
ReplyDeleteI spotted the boxes and jumped for joy, I didn't realize until I picked them up that they had something inside still. WAHOO! Wish I had bought more. Actually I have very little ephemera, you're seeing it as I pick it up (except for my family stuff) - you guys have been a bad influence on my pocket book. ;)
Happy Rednesday,
Sally
Hi Ann!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see you! I thought the boxes were so cute, the hooks were a lovely surprise. I'll have to compare them to my current ones - I know what you mean, they're so flimsy!
Happy Rednesday,
Sally
Hi Carol!
ReplyDeleteYou're so cute, absolutely right! Hey! I just compared the two boxes I got over the weekend and the Time Saver ones do not have the advertised super duper loopy-di-do, that appears in the graphic on the box. FALSE advertising, the weasels. bwahhahahhaha
Happy Rednesday,
Sally
Great book! Oh yes, I am still dipping into the Halloween candy. Have a great day! Twyla
ReplyDeleteHi Twyla!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see you, I'm so glad you enjoyed the booklet. I can't wait to see all of your Thanksgiving postcards! & Yippie! I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one indulging in Halloween candy WHEW! We had so few kids - there's a ton leftover - I need to give it away FAST.
Happy Rednesday,
Sally
Hi Sally,
ReplyDeleteGreat vintage Christmas reds! And yes I have been dipping into the left over candy.;~)
Blessings,
~Myrna
Hi Myrna!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you enjoyed yourself! Hurray, the numbers of Halloween candy dippers are increasing! :) I think I better walk ours over to the neighbors house before I eat it all.
Happy Rednesday,
Sally
Too cute, our posts are a bit similar..I shared a Christmas vignette I have got going in the house already. Since I'm Canadian, we already celebrated our Thanksgiving, so this is giving me LOTS of time to start preparing for Christmas..thank the Lord since I have a million bins to go through, lol. Loving the music at your blog. Blessings.
ReplyDeleteSally, These graphics make my heart "sing"! Elizabeth
