Well here I am, so sorry for the ultra poor quality photos. I strained my lower back yesterday and I feel so miserable. Not that that's a good excuse for the poor photos (especially since my photos are always poor) but geez, they're even worse today. Oh well.
I thought since I'm sidelined and can't do what I had planned, "Oh! Take some quick photos for A Favorite Thing and then I can lay down with the iPad and visit everybody!"

Sharing some of my most favorite things today ...
"A Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady", such a charming book! Later when they started producing china from it, my mom got me the basin and pitcher. And last but by no means least, one of my absolute favorite things I own, Mrs. Toadflax (from the Brambly Hedge books), also a gift from my mom.
with Claudia at Mockingbird Hill Cottage.
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the Milky Way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced, but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A Poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed—and gazed—but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils. - See more at: http://www.poets.org/viewmedia.php/prmMID/15925#sthash.pY36VQu6.dpuf

Hi Sally,
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry you hurt your back. I do hope you can take it easy this weekend and start feeling better.
Your Favorite Things are just that...They're mine, too. I love the fact that they were given to you by those who love you. That makes them special.
Your little one, Mrs. Toadflax, is so tiny and so sweet. Your china pitcher and bowl are gorgeous and so lovely to display. Everything in your display says "Home Sweet Home".
Feel better, my thoughtful friend, and have a restful evening.
Blessings,
Carolynn xo
Oh my goodness sweet lady, hope you feel better soon, I hate back problems!! I don't blame you, they'd be my favs too, just adorable. Your photos are perfect too! Take care sweetie. Thank you for your sweet and kind visit. Have a nice Sunday.
ReplyDeleteFABBY
You were ambitious to be even taking pictures with a sore back, hope you're feeling better real soon,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for stopping in at Cranberry Morning. I am sorry to hear that you strained your back. That is indeed miserable! I hope you can get rest and that it will heal soon. I have heard of the book you mention but I can see that I need to look it up on Amazon. Looks wonderful! And the Mrs. Bunny is so sweet! Love it.
ReplyDeleteI am also sorry about Honey. There is nothing like a wonderful companion dog. Our Bridger, a 117 pound German Shepherd, just turned 12 years old and has started declining greatly in the past several months. We love this dog, and I can hardly imagine life without him. And I know how much you love Honey.
I have that book - thanks for reminding me how cool it is! I didn't know there were dishes make of it. Love your pitcher and bowl and your sweet bunny. Sorry to hear you hurt your back. I know how painful that can be.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Edith Holden's botanical illustrations!! She is one of my favorite artists! And your little Brambley Hedge figurine is adorable. Hope you are feeling better very soon.
ReplyDeleteHopefully, your back is getting better. I love the little mouse, that looks like she's a Mama. Thanks for stopping by at Babajeza's
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful illustrations. I just love your pitcher.
ReplyDeleteThese are all so sweet. So sorry about your back. Be sure and rest it as you don't want it to get worse.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Laura
goodness- you shouldn't be up with that sore back!!Don't know how you're doing it!! Looks like Beatrice Potter Rabbit?? and love the Pitcher with bowl. Also looks like a British pattern?
ReplyDeleteGet yourself well!
Beautiful pitcher and bowl!
ReplyDeleteBig Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
What a pretty pitcher and bowl set - thanks for sharing them with us. Hope you back gets better soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and nice comment and daughter's creations.
Enjoy your Sunday.
YOU are just silly, ha ha
ReplyDeleteThe FIRST Photo : my FIRST thought was : OMGOODNESS I LOVE THAT LADY BUNNY / SO CUTE!!!
IT was NOT : Oh poor quality photo by person in pain...
Don't worry about your photos..this is not a magazine shoot here, it is a blog party and I love that lady bunny
Rest up / get better :)
Poor quality pictures??? Did I misread that? I must have. I love the little mouse. Such a cute little vignette you have going there.
ReplyDeleteWell, I for one, do not think your pictures are poor at all! You did a great job!
ReplyDeleteNice cheery photos I do believe, thank you for bringing the sunshine into my world! (We just received snow last night five days after the first day of spring! Ahhhhhhhhhkkkk)
Jillian
I love, love this vignette. Mrs. Toadflax goes perfectly with that pretty book. Just so springy. I can't believe you hurt your back.I hope it's not serious. Yes I'm on the other side of that awful tax stuff. So happy about that. I can't believe they mixed up your SS number. Well-I wouldn't be surprised at all if we got audited for some dumb mistake. I'm just not going to think about it. Like Scarlet O'hara! Get well quick-you've gotta be back to crafting and dog walking soon!
ReplyDeleteAh! I knew I knew the book you are featuring. Oh my gosh, is it ever a favorite of mine. I hadn't thought of this book in ages. Gosh, I wracked my back out yesterday, but one miserable evening later, I am myself again (minus one bum knee)! I hope you will be back to yourself soon as well. Have a wonderful Easter weekend! Elizabeth
ReplyDeleteSally, those pictures are LOVELY. I love the Diary of an Edwardian Lady, too, and enjoy reading it throughout the year. I had no idea that the Edith Holden people also made china items. That pitcher and bowl are just so pretty. That little mouse is adorable! I have one that's from Beatrix Potter. (She's washing clothes.) Hoping you're feeling better!
