I hit the mother lode!

(Please visit Suzanne at Colorado Lady for more Vintage Thingie Thursday fun!)

(Also joining Time Travel Thursday for the very first time at Brambleberry Cottage!)

In May we went to the Vintage Paper Fair in Glendale.  I inherited some vintage documents and I wanted to find out if I had anything or not ... dreams of Antique Roadshow and a new found fortune swam in my head hahahhahahhahha!

Alas a Malibu mansion was not in my future, my things turned out to be worth maybe sixty dollars each (if I could find a buyer, less if I sold them to a dealer) - the appraiser telling me that designers buy them for clients to frame, like for a doctors office or something.
Which is fine, I really didn't want to part with them since they hold some of my family history - I just kind of freaked out when I saw Ulysses S. Grant and other Presidents signatures on my documents and thought a life of leisure could be mine. Turns out they were secretaries signatures, my eye not catching the successive signature line below the Presidential signature line.

So instead of decreasing my mountain of things (which has overtaken our wee hoosie), I added to it and ...

Cowabunga!  I think I hit the mother lode!
Crafty readers please sit down, lest you swoon with delight and envy teehee ... I found this collection of vintage Needlecraft Magazines.  Look at the yumminess!!!
(I still cannot figure out this new blogger photo spacing thing! ARGH! it looks fine on my compose screen but then it looks WHACKO on my preview screen and no matter what I do, I can't get rid of the wonky spacing ... um, which I did not create myself.  There seems to be a ghost in this new blogger machine, one that doesn't like me WAH!  UNCLE!)

  5. Appraisal fairs are so much fun even if we don't walk away rich. Those Needlecraft magazines are in such good condition. I have a few of them with tattered pages, but they're so much fun to look through.

  6. Wow! What a treasure in the Needlecraft magazines. They are a piece of art all unto themselves. How pretty they would be to copy or scan and use as a wall collage in a sewing room. You scored on that one!!!

  8. Oh, I love these magazines. I also love the Priscilla magazine which looks very similar. Are these bound together, or can you loosen them? They are so fun to read, and the covers are gorgeous. I'm visiting through Vintage Thingie Thursday, and am a new follower.

  10. Too bad the Malibu mansion will have to wait. Those needle craft magazines are a real find though. If you figure out that photo spacing thing you've got to fill me in 'cause I can't get it to work right either?
