who am I to be blind? pretending not to see their needs?

("With all of the negativity and violence going on in the world right now, I felt the need to do this video. I worked extremely hard on this song and changed a lot to make it my own. My goal is to bring attention to the viola and hopefully inspire other kids to learn an instrument since many schools in America have removed it out of their curriculum. It would really mean the world to me if you all could please share this with your loved ones. I wish we lived in a world where everyone could just love each other instead of fighting one another. One day we will get to that point in life where we can finally live in peace. We all just need to "make a change." I have always loved the message in this song and tried to deliver the meaning to the best of my ability with my viola. I truly believe that if we really want to make the world a better place, it starts with the "Man in the Mirror." I hope you enjoy my cover." Jeremy Green, published on Aug 23, 2014)

Man in the Mirror

I'm gonna make a change
For once in my life
It's gonna feel real good
Gonna make a difference
Gonna make it right

As I, turn up the collar on
My favorite winter coat
This wind is blowing my mind
I see the kids in the streets
With not enough to eat
Who am I to be blind?
Pretending not to see their needs

A summer's disregard, a broken bottle top
And one man's soul ( and a one man's soul)
They follow each other on the wind ya' know
'Cause they got nowhere to go
That's why I want you to know

I'm starting with the man in the mirror
I'm asking him to change his ways
And no message could have been any clearer
If you want to make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself, and then make a change

I've been a victim of a selfish kind of love
It's time that I realize
That there are some with no home, not a nickel to loan
Could it be really mean, pretending that they're not alone?

A willow deeply scarred, somebody's broken heart
And a washed-out dream
They follow the pattern of the wind ya' see
'Cause they got no place to be
That's why I'm starting with me

I'm starting with the man in the mirror
I'm asking him to change his ways
And no message could have been any clearer
If you want to make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself, and then make a change

  1. Amen. Low on my remaining internet data for the month. I'll try to watch this on library's computer this week.
