sniffle sniffle ...
The ugly duckling truth ... I ran out of time to finish my ducky in class last weekend and the past week had too many surprises in it, requiring my time, to try to finish her.
I'm really anxious about having to finish her all on my own.
I found this sooooooooooo difficult. I have no eye for dimension or form or sculpting ability so I was so far out of my depth and comfort zone (which is pretty narrow to begin with, let alone in public!).
Please think cute ducky thoughts for me and that I can overcome my anxiety and get her finished. WAH!

You can do it. The little duckling will mean more to you if you finish it yourself.
ReplyDeleteHi LV! So nice to see you! :) Thanks so much for your encouragement, I so appreciate it.
DeleteHappy week to you!
I know you can do it. Maybe Viv can give you some tips. She seems to whip together her needle felted creations so quickly. Sending creative and warm thoughts your way!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim! Thanks so much for cheering me on! I thought of Viv too :) I've forgotten what I was told about the eyes (YIKES!), so I'll send her an email.
DeleteHappy week to you!
Oh that's hysterical! Kind of like a "ghost" duck, lol. C'mon Sally, you can't leave that poor sweet duck like that. What you've done so far is adorable, she or he just needs a little "face" time. ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Pam! Oh! You're laughing at my poor ducky - poor thing has me as a mommy LOL. I was rather thinking a zombie ducky, they're so popular now. That's called "core wool" - I guess you don't waste the colored on the whole piece or perhaps this is denser? I don't know hahahaha ...
DeleteHappy week to you, you ducky disparager ;)
Oh she's looking adorable!! Can't wait to see her when you're all finished! Wishing you duckling thoughts!! :) xx Holly
ReplyDeleteHi Holly! Thank you for being so kind and supportive :) fingers crossed I can figure out her face! The face is always the most important ...
DeleteHappy week to you!
You know that little ducky...unfinished as he is...reminds me of the duck on "Babe." With all his cute insecurities and skinny ducky body.
ReplyDeleteHi Shirley! I adore Babe, one of my absolute favorite movies! I've forgotten the duck though??? I'll look forward to seeing it again.
DeleteHappy nearly weekend!
you are off to a perfect start! she is going to be awesome. And I feel like I might have to join in the fun and make one similar myself! after I finish a couple other things that I have started.
ReplyDeleteyou asked me about attaching the eyes, just poke holes were you want them and glue them in. cant wait to see yours finished!
happy day
xoxo

Hi Vivian! Thank you! She only resembles a ducky because I kept looking at the teachers model WAH! Now I feel lost. We're supposed to attach the eyes with needle and thread - and pull the thread hard to make the socket and shape the face ... Her cute cheeks will stick out. But - I thought I remembered how and I pulled the needle and thread through and the glass eyeball button just fell off the thread hahahaha. So I obviously missed the first step LOL.
DeleteThanks for coming over and helping and encouraging me! Happy craftiness!
You have to give him eyes and a beak, Sally! He is adorable. You can do this! :) xo
ReplyDeleteYou can do it! The duck already looks adorable. I've never tried this kind of thing! Good job!
