Oh! I've got a case of the blues, blogging and otherwise. I don't know how you guys do it - manage to keep up with your lives, your homes, your crafting and your blogs (and visit other blogs)? I am so overwhelmed with the amount of stuff I need to accomplish and so frustrated that I can't just craft or read a book.
Last Sunday was our "19 year anniversary since we met" Anniversary and we had a lovely dinner out in celebration.
Oh my gosh - we went to see the Oscar nominated French movie "Amour" on Monday (after watching the inauguration on TV). It was beautifully crafted and acted but so very intense and painful. I was very shaken by it and it took a long time to let it go.

YIKES! This weekend I have another one of those things, um, birthdays. The good news is that I'm planning to go to a quilt show and a dollhouse miniature show too. WOOHOO!
The doggies are doing well. Georgie is on an at-home chemotherapy med, in concert with two other regularly prescribed medications. He was only thought to have a few days to live the beginning of December and weeks have passed now. We are so very thankful for his presence in our lives. And Gracie is a bundle of mischief and very funny and makes us laugh with her hijinks.
I miss all of you, my blogging pals! Happy Hump Day!

I gave up with trying to keep up because I know I can't. Need to do some serious cleaning around here. The good news is that we have a 3-day weekend and my husband is out of the country. The bad news is I keep finding myself on the couch crocheting and blogging. Ha! Best wishes, Tammy
ReplyDeleteHi Tammy,
DeleteThat's wise thinking - to be kind to ourselves and let go of what we can't do! I worry I'm never going to dig myself out from under all this stuff and my "need to get done" list and I beat myself up over it. WAH!
Happy 3-day weekend to you - we just had one (and are very excited to have two more coming up in February YIPPIE!)! I tend to be a slacker and do what I want and then run around like a crazy person before the hubby comes home teehee.
Thanks for commiserating with me :)
Oh Sally, I hope you get out of the dumps. I think we all go through that at one time or another. You guys do so much-I mean your outings. I wish we did more of that. I'm so glad to hear an update on the doggies and glad George is doing so well. Happy Anniversary and Bday my friend.
ReplyDeleteHi Leslie,
DeleteThanks so much for the anniversary and bday wishes!I got some stuff done today, so feel a bit better. But there's so much! ARGH. I have a hard time coping with the never ending aspect of keeping a home and a life. Sheesh.
I'm very lucky, my husband and I like so many of the same things - although that will be put to the test in February when I am supposed to go to a Star Trek Convention with him hahhahahahhaha.
How are those kitchen cabinets coming along? I want to (at minimum) repaint ours a different color.
Happy week to you!
Sally, I am so glad I have you fooled and you think I am crafting and blogging and keeping up with my home - haha! I am bumping into walls and not getting one little thing done. I am reading. It's my favorite distraction beside painting weird little paintings and making weird little plushies. Happy Birthday, and thank you for the sweet card about my mom.
ReplyDeleteFeel better - sending hugs!! xoxo
Pammie! :)
DeleteSo nice to see you! You're very welcome re the card. How are you holding up? Sending you lots and lots of squishy hugs your way.
Hah! You have indeed hoodwinked me, I thought you were a cleaning crafting blogging dynamo! I wander around the house and think hmmmmm, where shall I begin and I get overwhelmed and lost in the magnitude of the mess and task at hand bwahahhahhaha.
Thank you for commiserating with me and the birthday wishes! Good to see you out and about. Do take good care of yourself and be gentle with yourself. Grief is a long and winding road. I will send medicinal chocolate your way :)
Sally xooxoxo
I think it is called January. You have some things planned that will perk you up in no time.
ReplyDeleteBesides half the people out there are just like us! behind on things I am sure
Hi Ann,
DeleteThank you so much for commiserating with me. Good to be reminded that lots of others are feeling behind too - I always think it's just me and get down on myself. And January is a gloomy month, isn't it?! Such a let down after the happy holiday laden months before. I think I'm pooped from all the worry over Georgie and not having any outlet for it.
Happy week to you!
Hi Ann, Hump Day is always the hardest. I'm not a Wednesday girl either. Not a thing accomplished today!
ReplyDeleteSo interesting about the movie. You must watch Woodie Allen's new movie "To Rome With Love". Oh my gosh it is so beautifully shot, you will want to buy a ticket to Rome right away. The story is very funny. I absolutely loved it!
I spoke with Retro Sandie today on the telephone, she loves British anything. I have told her to check out your Woodhouse. I hope she does!
Have a better Thursday! E
Hi Elizabeth! Thanks for coming over and commiserating with me! I knew the movie "Amour" was about a wife having a stroke but I didn't know anything beyond that - if the actress doesn't win the Oscar for Best Actress, something is greatly amiss. But it was a very very intense a watch for me (my mom had a stroke) in the movie theater, I wish I could have seen it at home, so I could stop it and then return to it. I don't know that I would recommend it to anyone, it's that tough of a watch - well at least it was for me. Thanks for the recommendation, I'll look forward to seeing the WA. :)
DeleteHow fun to have blogging friends that turn into real life friends, that's so great! I am so envious. If Retro Sandie enjoys silly humor, she most likely will enjoy PG Wodehouse - hope so!
Happy almost weekend to you!
